About us

The Local Government Lawyers Group is an independent, unaffiliated group of lawyers working in local government in Victoria.

Started by an interested few in 2010, the Group now comprises over 20 Councils with almost 40 individual members who meet quarterly at a member Council venue to share experiences, talk on topics of interest and listen to guest speakers with specialist expertise in selected areas. Each year, an annual one day Conference is held with a range of presentations made by various speakers. CPD points are available to members who participate on that day.

Members of the Group regularly share information with each other, seek input on a range of issues and alert each other to interesting developments

The Group is open to lawyers admitted in Victoria who commit to attending the quarterly meetings. There is no joining or membership fees although a modest charge is made for the annual Conference Day to offset costs. To apply for membership, please contact us at admin@lglgvic.org.
